Can you hear a faint jingling?
That’s not the elves warming up — that’s the sound of your 15-day warning bell.
We’ve officially entered
⏳ THE WRAPPING PHASE ⏳
(please do not worry if you aren't quite there yet.... but it's a good time to prepare!)
This is the magical window where makers like us...
pretend we’re organised
rediscover what we bought three weeks ago, and
wonder how the sellotape has already vanished. Again.
And here’s the joyful truth:
There is still time to make every gift look gorgeous — without losing your mind, your scissors, or your will to live.
Don’t worry — I’m here to guide you.
Together we’ll turn tiny, easy touches into those delicious “How did you DO that?” moments.
This blog will guide you through the three pillars of festive sanity:
🎁 Wrapping that looks intentional
👗 Outfit glow-ups with zero effort
✨ Home & table touches that make you look like you planned ahead
And yes — we’re talking ribbons, trims, appliqués, tassels, velvet bows, the lot.
This is your season to sparkle.
Why 15 Days Out Is the Sweet Spot
Ten days from now you’ll be saying things like:
“Do I really need sleep?”
“Can a bow be emotionally supportive?”
“Why is THIS the moment the cat wants attention?”
But 15 days? Fifteen days is practically a luxury spa retreat in Maker Time.
It’s enough room to:
– Wrap beautifully
– Add personality
– Finish last-minute handmakes
– Upgrade your party outfit
– And still have a mince pie without feeling guilty
This is where clever use of trims becomes your secret festive power.
So let’s get to the good stuff.
🎁 THE WRAPPING PLAN (aka: Make the outside look so good they forget you panic-bought the inside)
Wrapping shouldn’t feel like punishment.
I'm going to repeat that....
Wrapping shouldn’t feel like punishment.
With the right ribbons and trims, even brown paper can look like boutique packaging from a shop too posh to enter without holding your breath.
1. Choose Your Signature Trim
I'm assuming you have a Christmas theme. Or maybe that is just me.
I LOVE everything to match up!
Your trim is your wrapping identity for the year; your main character energy.
It can all come from a colour, then vary the texture for that lux look.
Think velvet, satin, metallics… ribbon, lace, braid, cord.....whatever makes your inner magpie purr.
2. Add a 'Moment'
Think layering or a little extra something.
A lace band underneath ribbon.
A jacquard bow with velvet.
A tassel.
A sprig of rosemary.
Your gifts now say, “Yes, I AM the artistic cousin.”
3. Tie the Perfect Bow (You absolutely can)
A lot of our ribbons are by nature single sided so check out THIS video!
Velvet ribbon makes this easier because it behaves nicely!
👗 THE OUTFIT GLOW-UP PLAN
(Small changes. Big drama. Zero cost per wear.)
Before you panic-shop for a whole new outfit, remember:
A metre of trim can change your entire personality.
1. Add a Ribbon Belt
Suddenly the dress you’ve worn 943 times looks like it came from a curated boutique.
2. Add a Ribbon Stripe to trousers, or edge a cuff or hem
No-one will know it took you 10 minutes. You don't even need to sew it - use an iron and hemming tape!
You’ll look like you spent hours.
We both know you didn’t.
Take a pair of plain trousers, add a stripe of ribbon along the side seam.
I'm thinking black with a magenta pink glitter velvet!

3. Turn a Plain Top into a Christmas Jumper
Take one boring top.
Add one fabulous appliqué (or several)
Congratulations — you’ve just created a “limited-edition designer top” without knitting… or designing.
And here’s the best bit:
You don’t even need to sew it. A few stitches or a dab of fabric glue and suddenly you’re the person people ask,
“Where did you GET that jumper?”
Answer: “I made it, obviously.”
(They don’t need to know it took you 90 seconds.)
Choose to go subtle with some sequin motifs… or go full festive with a Christmas Tree, stars or a smattering of snowflakes.
Either way?
Instant Christmas jumper magic.

4. Turn Appliqués Into Statement Jewellery
This is where the fun REALLY kicks in.
Don't tell anyone, but appliqués make the easiest:
Brooches
Earrings
Hair clips
Shoe embellishments
Emergency “I forgot accessories” saviours
Just pick your favourite motif …
Glue, stitch, or clip — and BOOM — instant glam.

✨ THE TABLE & HOME TOUCH PLAN
(Because ambience matters, and also you deserve pretty things)
You don’t need a whole house transformation — just micro-makeovers.
1. A Ribbon Band Around Your Christmas Cake
Suddenly Mary Berry is trembling.
Attach with a pin, not icing. (Sticky icing + trim = sadness.)
The best part - you can reuse it every year!

2. Quick Table Glow-Ups
Tie bows around napkins, or the stems of your glasses
Add lace to jars for tealights
Run velvet ribbon down the centre as a runner
Effort level: low
Impact level: chef’s kiss

🎀 Your 15-Day Gift-Wrapping Tool Kit
I hope you are inspired!
Ready to wrap, glow-up, and glide into Christmas like the creative genius you are?

Recommended trims from the shop (because you deserve the good stuff):
Velvet ribbons
Metallic jacquard
Lace (for the softness)
Appliqués (for the “oh HELLO” effect)
